Responsibilities
? Provide oversight and day-to-day decision making over The Program needs related to back-office-operations for all GCM products
? Provide subject matter expertise to the Project’s leadership team as well as to individual work stream leaders in terms of:
- Affirmation and confirmation processes, systems, tools and protocols
- Reconciliation and activities to solve differences with internal and external entities
- - Creating of functional hubs to centralize tasks across GCM products
? Identify gaps between Local practices and BNS TO (and/or other industry-wide) practices in matters under their scope, and review internal policies to update them with changes in roles, processes, systems and/or tools
? Improve controls across the trade’s lifecycle to minimize operational risks:
- Increase and automate reconciliations between systems across all assets classes (e.g., balances reported by a custodian vs. internal balances) to ensure consistency
- Automate workflows to track open items, manage errors, track service levels and escalate issues
- Define KPIs and redesign performance management reports to track operational performance (i.e. Trading Oversight Check list)4
? Connect Program members with relevant resources/experts to define appropriate solutions
? Ensure that Operations requirements are adequately reflected within IT requirements and implementations
? Act as primary liaison between Shared Services, GWO and the Program’s leadership team
Experiencie:
? 10+ years working in a Back or Middle Office operations for a multinational institution with a relevant capital markets business. 5+ experience leading teams
? Working knowledge of OTC and Listed Derivatives, Bonds, Cash Equities and FX markets
? Working knowledge of Mexican and International Clearing , Settlement and Payments systems and protocols
? Solid knowledge of Mexican regulation as it pertains to Capital Markets Products
? Ability to communicate proficiently in English (written, and spoken)
? Past experience in transformation projects or large system implementations desirable
